"In my work, my intention is to evoke those rare, transcendent moments of feeling truly present. These moments are often inspired by a strong sense of place, childhood memories, light quality, color and objects from the natural world which hold a personal, symbolic meaning."
Bio and Work
B.F.A. Studio Art, Louisiana Tech University
Wendy Walker Silverman grew up in the deep woods of north central Louisiana, which has a strong influence on her work. After ten years as a muralist/decorative painter/decorator, she entered the corporate world for several years. In 2017, she left full time outside employment in order to focus her energy on painting and teaching in her studio, design, and traveling.
Wendy's paintings are currently in private collections in Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, North Carolina, Washington, and California. Her art has been featured on six album covers to date, and a line of textiles based on her paintings was launched in 2018.
During 2017, she was the curation director for the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair in Nashville, DC, and Charleston markets. Since February 2017, she has curated a recurring arts series, SIREN, at Nashville event space White Avenue Studio.
Wendy frequently lends her artistic eye, strong sense of color, collaborative spirit, and passion for design to clients wishing to create peaceful, inviting interiors.
